What To Expect
0800 – 0900hrs Meet and greet at the PORT KLANG CRUISE TERMINAL and depart for the countryside.
1100hrs On arrival at the MAH MERI GYPSY VILLAGE , we will be greeted by the Mah Meri village guide who will take us on a walkabout tour of his village. He will belt out facts and fancies of his people and their cultures.
The RUMAH MOYANG (Ancestral Home) is the most fascinating part of the tour. Every year in March they have a day of Ancestral worship and food and drinks are placed at the altar of their ancestors in return for good health, good harvest and protection from evil. There is much merriment of dancing and worship. The Mah Meri source of income was fishing and agriculture and they excelled in wood carvings. They are listed under UNESCO and most of the figurines are inspirations from their ancestors who come in the wood carvers dreams.
1300hrs Visit TYPICAL MALAY HOME for a traditional herbal garden tour. There are plants for blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, etc. Lunch is home cooked Malay Food. Awesome. Must try !
1400hrs Drive past scenic HOMES ON STILTS and a photo shoot.
TODDY PARTY – Adjourn to a typical Toddy Shop right in the middle of an Oil Palm Plantation for some fresh toddy with a touch of exotic snacks as in wild boar, venison, mutton or chicken and etc. TODDY is coconut wine that is extracted from the fronds of the coconut tree and is similar to grape wine. It is sweet and turns sour due to fermentation. It is a health drink that cleanses the urethral and liver systems and is 4% natural alcohol content.
1600hrs Depart for the ship arriving approx. 1700hrs. Good bye !
