11.30 – 12.00pm Our English speaking Tour Coordinator will fetch you from your hotel reception for   the countryside tour. It will be a sumptuous Seafood lunch Malaysian style. Proceed to Carey Island – the walkabout tour to be conducted by a Mah Meri Village Guide who will belt out facts and fancies about their culture, highlights being the Rumah Moyang (Ancestral Home). Every year in March a festival in honor pf their ancestors is held at the village. It is believed that the door to the spiritual world opens and the villagers ask for better fortunes, good health and protection from evils. They excel in wood carvings depicting rich mythological meanings with spiritual connections. Their ancestors come in their dreams and instruct them the shape of the figurines to be carved. The Mah Meri have now assimilated into modern society, working in plantations and farms, but retain their unique culture.  They are listed under UNESCO.

We drive scenic countryside and photo shoots. Adjourn for a “Toddy Party”.  Toddy is palm wine and is harvested from the fronds of the Coconut tree. Toddy is a health drink that cleanses the urethral and liver systems.  Fresh toddy is served with exotic snacks as in deer meat, wild boar, chicken, mutton even monitor lizards. These dishes go well with toddy. An experience par excellence ! Toddy has 4% alcohol content.
