The Malaysian Countryside combines a slower pace of life trying to keep close to nature and cottage industries – from tribal leftovers to fruit orchards. This is a unique not done by other agents. The Mah Meri belong to an indigenous tribe – the Senoi, who were sea gypsies depending on fishing and agriculture. There are 2,000 of them remaining and they excel in the art of wood carving. Carey Island named after an English planter Edward Valentine John Carey was contracted to plan a rubber plantation in the 1900s. From a rubber plantation now an oil Palm Plantation.
