Overview : This is a multi 4 days tour covering a Rainforest – Taman Negara, a hill resort –  Cameron Highlands and the iconic Penang Island. You will get to savor various Malaysian cuisine in this tour.

NOTE : The Canopy Walkway is closed for massive renovation until further notice. The trees are too old to sustain. The Forestry is identifying new pathway with younger trees and a longer walkway. This is responsible tourism. Noble indeed !

Day 1 to 4

DAY 01 – ( L D H) KUALA LUMPUR – TAMAN NEGARA  (Drive time  approx 3 1/2  hours )
Hotel: Mutiara Resort or similar   (Depending on availability)                              

Taman Negara is a 130 million years old tropical rainforest covering 4,343 sq kilometers and is the home of the most threatened mammals : Tigers, Tapirs, Elephants, Sun Bears not forgetting 14,000 flowering plants, 300 bird species, 238 fresh water fish and the list is endless.   

0730 – 0800hrs hrs Our English speaking Tour Coordinator will fetch you from the reception of your hotel for  Kuala Tahan, Taman Negara,  enroute visit the iconic   BATU CAVES – climb 272 steps into the temple of Hindu deity who is honored every year in January or February  for THAIPUSAM – a festival to give him thanks and praise. (Ladies ought to be properly attired to enter the temple- knees and shoulders covered).  On arrival have a sumptuous lunch on the floating Cafe, take a short rest and then  catch a boat for Rapids Shooting  – a thrill as the boatman negotiates 7 sets of Rapids and you get a “chance” to get wet. Visit an  aborigine village to see their fire making skills and blowpipe hunting tecjnisues.   The Rainforest is their Supermarket where they get their life’s necessities. They have things secret and things taboo.  The experienced Nature Guide will belt out facts and fancies about Flora and Fauna in Taman Negara as he takes you on a jungle trekking experience to a mesmerizing Rainforest Waterfalls. You will enjoy a cool dip,  

You may be lucky if you get to see the lesser animals like the flying fox, squirrels, monkeys, birds… but if you see a Tiger, we ain’t sure who is lucky !

1700hrs Check in to hotel. Freshen up.     1900hrs Dinner at the Floating Cafe… followed by  NITE JUNGLE WALK – Tropical animals are shy and hide. So Observation Hides have been built near Wildlife frequented Salt Licks for YOU to watch from a distance. These nocturnal animals come for their salt intake. Enjoy the Forest Orchestra as the Nature Guide helps to locate animals.   Animals sighted thus far : Mousedeer, Snakes, Wild Boar, Tapir ( a friendly one) Spiders and Insects. Latest: Black Panther up on the tree.  2200hrs Back to hotel. Good Nite and the Forest Orchestra continues playing.

DAY 02 (B L D H ) – TAMAN NEGARA – CAMERON HIGHLANDS   ( Drive time approx.3 1/2  hours) 
Strawberry Resort or similar depending on availability)             

Cameron Highlands is a hill resort with cool temperatures, known for its farmlands, Tea Plantations, Nurseries, Orchards, Lakes,Waterfalls, wildlife, Mossy Forest Golf Courses, Land Rovers, Bungalows,  and etc. not forgetting the Aborigines (Orang Asli). Some of them are still jungle dwellers and some have left for the nearby towns.                                                               

0800hrs After Breakfast, check out and depart for Cameron Highlands.  Lunch at Tanah Rata and visit the famous Tea Plantation was founded by a British Businessman Mr JA Russel in 1929. Today he owns 3 Tea Estates with a total of 8,000 acres. It is to be noted that BOH works closely with the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and the MNS (Malaysian Nature Society) in the conservation of our Elephants, tigers and Orang Utan. Part of the proceeds from the tea Cafe goes towards this conservation effort. A noble deed indeed !.     BUTTERFLY FARM & INSECTARIUM – is a secret Paradise where 5,000 Butterflies dance on ferns and scented flowers. The Landscaped gardens, exotic plants, fresh water turtles and the many insects are a thriller.    VEGETABLE, FRUITS & FLOWER MARKET – A stroll to see a showcase of  various vegetables, fruits and flowers grown in the Camerons.  STRAWBERRY FARM – Handpick fresh strawberries right from the plant for a fee (Optional). Check in to hotel. Free at leisure. 

 1900hrs  Malaysian Dinner  and you will enjoy it.  Bring along sweaters as the Nites are cold. 

DAY 03 (B L H) CAMERON HIGHLANDS – PENANG ISLAND  ( Drive time approx. 3 hours)

The Island of PENANG was founded by Sir Francis Light in 1786 and he first landed at Fort Cornwallis. Penang is known as the “Pearl of the Orient” and is one of the most beautiful touristic locations in Malaysia. There are loads of activities and sights. Be also “warned”  that Penang is a food haven. 

0800hrs After Breakfast depart for PENANG ISLAND.  Lunch on arrival. Visit Khoo Kongsi and the Clan Jetty  with wooden houses on stilts and planked walkway built over water – a picturesque fishing village. Take a Trishaw ride through Georgetown – a UNESCO listed city and drive past the Fort Cornwallis   THE RECLINING BUDDHA  is 33 meters in length and was built in 1845 by the Thai Community. 

Check in to hotel. You will be on your own to enjoy fun and relaxation. The beach and the swimming pool beckons you. The hotel boasts of a tropical pool, clean beach, Gym, Jacuzzi, Kids playroom, sea sports on the beach and many shops and restaurants with a selection of local as well as western dining experiences with chill-outs at nite.  Please note dinner and beach activities not included. End of program. 

DAY 04 ( B ) PENANG ISLAND 
The beach and swimming pool are at your disposal till check out at 1200hrs. You have to make your own arrangements for your onward journey.
